The Davis Dyslexia Correction ® Program – A Three Part Process
The Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program is suitable for children age eight and over. We also provide adult dyslexia programs.
The program is not tutoring. It is an actual dyslexia educational correction program, establishing tools and strategies that give the student the ability to self-correct their dyslexia (and its effects), both in the school environment and in everyday life circumstances.
The program’s unique methods complement the student’s visual learning style and thereby engage creativity in learning. There are no tedious memorization and complicated systems to remember. Clients will learn HOW THEY LEARN and leave with the ability to implement the knowledge easily and effectively.
The program is done one-on-one, in a supportive environment. We give parents daily updates on the students’ progress and any issues that may arise during the day program.
- Dyslexia Correction Program – Part One
This is a one-on-one, one-week program. Many short breaks are taken throughout the day as needed. Clients learn and practice the tools & strategies learned during the week, to help them experience and know how to self-correct their dyslexia. They learn HOW THEY LEARN and leave with the ability to use the knowledge gained during the program in school and daily life.
For more specific program information, see Program Specifics here.
- Dyslexia Correction Program – Part Two: Guided Follow-up
The client will leave the program with all the tools, understanding, and materials necessary to integrate the program into their everyday lives and achieve positive results.
On the last day of the program, there will be support training for a parent, tutor, teacher, or friend, who will continue to help with the ongoing work with the various skills and tools the client established during the program week. This training is easy. It shows the support person how to facilitate (rather than teach) the student’s continued use of the tools and strategies they have learned both in the school circumstance and everyday life.
Dyslexia Solutions of Northern California will provide unlimited telephone/Skype consultations and reasonable follow-up visits as needed to support that process. If needed, we will also work with a student’s IEP Program at their school, as well as help to put together and establish a 504 Accommodations program.
